Rapunzels for Sale!

It's been so long since I posted the two Rapunzel dolls the first time, I figured I should do a new entry to announce that I'm finally ready to put them in the shop!

I decided to give up on adding curls to the historical Rapunzel's hair, but I'd certainly be willing to send her new owner the tendrils that I cut for that project.

I'm still struggling with my photo set-up, but I took a few pictures of the dolls together, and I'll also re-post some of my favorite individual shots:

My Twinn Rapunzel dolls.
You can see their different skin tones here quite well.  Rapunzel 1 (on the right) is very pale.  The other Rapunzel has the more generic My Twinn vinyl color (02 or 03, I'm never sure):

First, let's look at Rapunzel 1 (on the right), who is inspired by the Disney movie character:

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from her original post:

The wig looks great when it's let down, and if I kept this doll, this is probably how I would display her!

I did my best to give her an up-do, but the wig has many short strands that stick out, and so the style can look very messy.

She has a one-of-a-kind wig paired with a beautiful custom-made dress and premium glass eyes:

Now let's look at the historical Rapunzel!  She is inspired by the publication date of the Grimm brothers' fairy tale, which was 1812.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of this princess:

Her long wig is harder to manage than the first Rapunzel's wig, and it has some areas where the wig cap is visible, but I love the dramatic look of this wig's extreme length!

I braided the hair and added some golden button accents.  Also, this princess comes with a multi-piece outfit that includes a jacket and bonnet!

Here they are together once again:

Showing off their long braids!

I have re-braided Rapunzel 1's hair since this pic was taken!
As much as I hate to let these two go (they are wonderful to have as companions at my work table!), I need to move on.

Rapunzel 1 will be in the $250 range (she has glass eyes and a custom-ordered OOAK wig) and Rapunzel 2 will be $170.  Shipping included.

Thank you for being patient with me and following along with this elaborate princess series!

  1. I think your Regency Rapunzel has 02 (fair) skin, which is the most common MT skin tone. 03 (olive) tends to be warmer and often almost orange.

I can't wait to see the rest of the princesses!

  3. Have you ever thought about a bulletin board in your new workspace where you can pin favorite photos of your favorite projects?

Sometimes I come back to the blog just to look at doll photos!

I love these two, and particularly adore Grimm Repunzel's blue dress. Bravo again! Sweet girls to photograph together. -Micah

  5. Emily, what happened with the grey card and colorchecker?

I don't remember very well my photography classes... Maybe the grey card is for the correct lights and the colorchecker is specific for the correct colours.

But I'm sure the teacher wanted that all the class have a grey card... And one day, we practiced with his colorchecker and the colours look very alike the photographed items.

    1. Hi Lilum, the grey card seems to be doing a nice job of getting the colors right! I'm still tinkering with it, though. I have to wait until payday to order the color checker (tomorrow!) so I'll let you know about that pretty soon. :)

  6. They look just incredible - so lovely. I do prefer Regency Rapunzel, though - her coloring and her lace dress are so dramatic and regal. But I love the flowery braid on Disney Rapunzel. They look great together.
